Quality Assurance

Summary:

The Quality Assurance is responsible of ensuring that only high-quality parts make it through production. He/she will lead, monitor, train and consult production employees in quality aspects and decisions and verify their results using high accuracy measuring equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop methods for inspection, testing and sampling inspections
  • Develop CNC-programs for metrology equipment
  • Conduct measurements and inspections that require highest expertise in measuring/inspection
  • Creation of measuring reports and inspection certificates
  • Make decisions to non-conforming parts/materials
  • Conduct root cause analysis and encourage continuous improvement process
  • Lead, Motivate, train and consult production personnel
  • Perform workstation audits and support ISO 9001 compliance
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of metrology capabilities
  • Monitor inspections and actions done in production to ensure a high level of quality
  • Monitor SPC data
  • Monitoring and calibration of testing and measuring equipment
  • Implementation of measurement system analysis
  • Creation of inspection, control and reaction plans
  • Creation of quality reports
  • Analysis of statistics and data regarding quality aspects
  • Maintain communication with other departments

Position Requirements:

  • Skilled in the programming and use of CMMs, optical measurement instruments and other specialized measuring and inspection equipment
  • Knowledgeable in control and inspection plans and AQL
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills and must be able to lead and motivate colleagues
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Ability to evaluate situation and make decisions with little or no guidance
  • Strong statistical knowledge
  • Must possess good computer skills (MS Work, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, CAQ)
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Education and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferable in the quality department of an automotive company
  • At least 3 years of experience in CMM programming and measuring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, automotive or equivalent)
  • Experience in measuring equipment calibration and analysis
  • Experience in CAQ programs
  • 5S and Lean Management experience
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and/or ISO 16949 is desirable
  • Experience in forearms industry is desirable
